Welcome to this edition of Thankful Thursday!  Whether you're here for the first time or have been visiting each week for a while, I am so glad you have taken the time to visit.

This has been an emotional week for me.  We began the week on Sunday with the 11th anniversary of our miscarriage - the second child we would lose.  I think for the most part I was "ok" where that was concerned, but it brought on a lot of other emotions.  Or, perhaps I should say, I had more of a heightened awareness of that day because my emotions have been getting the better of me considering the time of year it is.  This time last year, we were facing decisions that no parent should have to make regarding their child.  Peyton passed away on May 4, 2013.  The closer we get to that first anniversary date, the more emotional I am becoming.  So, it's been a tough week.

I am thankful for many things this week:

* The memories of our recent vacation.  I have been meaning to write more about our trip, but life has been a bit busy since we returned.  I'll get to it!  I treasure the memories Ron and I made on this trip.  We can't wait to do this again someday.

* Friends who make the journey of life a little easier.

* A great job with amazing co-workers.  I loved my first "all staff" experience this past week.  Loved getting to spend time in worship with these people!

* The celebration of 14 years of marriage to Ron on April 29th.  I don't know where the time has gone.  Seems like only yesterday we were getting married!

"Love is patient, love is kind.  It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."  {1 Corinthians 13:4-7, NIV}

What are you thankful for this week?
