Thankful Thursday #LinkUp - Year 3 Week 6

It's Thankful Thursday!  Welcome to this weekly link up, whether you're here for the first time or a long-time follower.  I appreciate you being here!  I can't believe we're already more than half-way through December.  Where has the year gone??

This time last week, I was preparing to undergo surgery {finally!} on my ankle.  That is now over and done with.  You can read how that went over HERE.  To be quite honest, the first few days were really rough and I am grateful most of all that God is a loving and forgiving God because I haven't really liked myself much at all this past week.  Between the pain and the painkillers, I've been snippy and irritable, and I haven't enjoyed my own company much.

This week I am thankful for:

*  Grace.  I have required extra measures of it this past week.  I apologize to Ron for my moods this week.  Honestly, I believe it is partially a side effect of some of the painkillers because I recognize that it's just not me.

*  Help.  I have required much of this over the past months, but it has been amped up a bit more in the past week.  I don't like asking for help and I don't like feeling helpless.  However, I recognize there are times when I actually need help and I am grateful that, despite my mood shifts this week, I've still gotten it!

*  Treats.  I have received meals from friends and family.  It truly does help and I'm very grateful.  I also received a sweet treat - butter tarts - from a fellow Canadian transplant living here in SC.  My US friends who don't know what butter tarts are...well, you're just missing out.  I honestly hadn't given them much thought until recently and that thought sparked an intense craving for something I couldn't produce out of thin air.  My friend, however, was so sweet as to meet this need for me.  Delicious!!!  Once I am back on my feet I will have to start making these myself.  So good!

*  Missions.  I'm thankful to have the opportunity to spread the word about a project for a friend's medical mission trip to Togo.  I mentioned this last week.  You can read all about that HERE or click on the button on my right sidebar for the "Loom Bracelets for Togo".  If you've got kids who are in to making Rainbow Loom bracelets, this is a great opportunity to expose them to global missions in a tangible way.  I received a text message the other day from someone who is a teacher, who got the students at her school involved.  She had received somewhere around 800 bracelets up to that point!  800!!  There's still plenty of time to help out on this project.

What are you thankful for this week?  Feel free to grab a button and link up your "thankful" posts below!
