Thankful Thursday - Year 2 Week 39! {Link Up}

Welcome to Thankful Thursday!  If you're new here, welcome!  If you're a return visitor, welcome back!  I am glad you are here.  Today is the day of the week where I like to take a moment to just be thankful for some things in my life that are happening right now.  You are welcome to link up your "thankful" posts below or simply share in the comments something you are thankful for.

This week I am thankful for:

* A week in Las Vegas with Ron.  This was our first getaway - just the two of us - in a long time.  We could have gone anywhere, but that is where we chose.  Historically, for us, Las Vegas has been our "go to" place when we've needed a break from reality.  As always, it did not disappoint.

* For the quality time Ron and I shared over the week away.  Yes, we were tired much of the time, and maybe we didn't get to have some of the deeper conversations we hoped to have, but maybe we weren't meant to.  Maybe we were simply meant to be away together, enjoying each other's company in a completely non-stressful environment.

* For the unique gifts that God created us with.  If we didn't each have our own "thing", life would be pretty boring.  Las Vegas certainly has its own brand of "unique", but we had the opportunity to eat some pretty amazing food here and here.  I am a bit of a Gordon Ramsay fan, so I was pretty excited to experience two of his restaurants.  As far as entertainment goes, we took in a couple shows - both Cirque du Soleil - Mystere and Zarkana.  Now those are some unique individuals.  It is pretty amazing to see their acrobatics, doing things that you would not think were humanly possible.

* When you think Las Vegas, you think of casinos and gambling.  Maybe you consider the oddity of the Statue of Liberty and the Eiffel Tower being within walking distance of each other.  You think of the Strip and all that comes with it.  We've visited seven or eight times now.  Usually we rent a car and to some day-tripping to take in some of the nearby natural beauty.  Not this time.  But I have to say that we did get to take in some of the beauty anyway.  As we sat in the airport Saturday night, I captured a few photos of the same mountain off in the distance.  The first picture was taken at 7:06pm and the third at 7:26pm.

Same mountain.  Three completely different looks.  Each time I turned around to look out the window, there was a new view.  It was absolutely breathtaking.  God is pretty amazing, isn't He??

* So grateful to our neighbor who looked after Moira while we were gone, allowing us the opportunity to have this getaway.

What are you thankful for today?
