Thankful Thursday - Year 2 Week 20! {Link Up}

Welcome back for another week of Thankful Thursday! I truly appreciate you all for visiting and linking up your "thankful" posts today!

Today I am thankful for:

* An amazing home nurse.  Sadly, today was to be her last day with us.  She is a travel nurse and is moving on.  Unfortunately, Peyton wound up in the hospital on Tuesday, so we didn't get to spend as much time with her as we thought we would this week.  I am so grateful for her and all she has done for not only Peyton, but for our family as well.  We truly wish her well, although I hope she comes back one day!

* An awesome neighbor.  With additional challenges thrown our way this week with Peyton, we suddenly found ourselves needing assistance with Moira a few times on a spur of the moment.  We have the most amazing neighbor who has come to our rescue multiple times this week, offering assistance and being there for us to help out with Moira so we could handle other issues with Peyton's hospitalization and Ron's work.  We are incredibly grateful for her generosity, her assistance, and her willingness to serve!

* Drugs.  Legal, prescriptions ones, of course!  Peyton was hospitalized on Tuesday.  We took her to the ER in the afternoon only to find out that the reason she was screaming all day and was completely inconsolable was because she has a fracture straight across her femur, right above her knee.  This is the same leg where she had a fractured tibia just below the knee just last month.  She already takes quite the cocktail of pain meds to help control her chronic pain which began even before these fractures started happening.  But I'm especially grateful for Morphine.  Without it, I'm not sure we could easily get through these first few days.

* Doctors, Nurses & Respiratory Therapists.  Once again, we have had an amazing team here at MUSC.  I can't say enough about them.  For the ones we're just meeting for the first time, I'm grateful for their input and their willingness to learn about Peyton.  For the ones we've known a long time, I'm especially grateful because they know her and they know what's normal and not normal for her.  Some offered support in terms of being able to tell others that what they were seeing just wasn't "her" when we went from "just" having a new fracture to suddenly being sick with with a respiratory virus which is keeping Peyton in the hospital longer than planned.  Some see us in here...again...and "get" that this is yet another challenge, another bump in the road, another intrusion into our already stressful lives, another step in the wrong direction.  For the compassion they extend and their willingness to go the extra mile for us, I am beyond grateful.

* For the opportunity to help out another adoptive family.  I met Rebekah through worship choir at church.  She and her husband are in the process of adopting a child.  They actually received their referral for their child this week!!  I am so excited for them.  That means that they are getting closer to their dream of bringing him home!  I have an online Scentsy party set up right now as a fundraiser for their adoption.  I will be donating my commissions to their family's adoption fund.  I know that this family would gratefully appreciate your consideration of helping their family raise the funds to bring their child home, so if you would like to purchase something to help support them, you can buy from this link HERE.

What are you thankful for today?
