I feel like the very first couple of verses say it all in today's scripture. Verses 12 and 13 say this:
The Father wants us to turn to Him now - while there is still time. He wants us to come to him with repentant hearts. He desires that we seek Him and what is true and right. He wants us to come before Him with everything that has us weighed down. Not just our sins - but all our trials and sorrows as well. God is loving and forgiving. He is kind and compassionate. He is full of grace and mercy. God wants us to give us all of these things. But we need to come to Him with sincere and truthful hearts.
This crying out to God is not limited to this time of prayer and fasting. God offers us all of these things each and every day. But if there is something you have been praying for specifically during this time, just give it all you've got. We've only a few days left on this journey of fasting. Be strong. God is with you during this time. God wants to cultivate that relationship with you - but it is up to us to let Him in.
If you are doing a fast right now, how is it going for you? What are your major challenges right now? What are you learning so far? Do you have any advice to share on how to get through the difficult moments of the fast? I'd love to hear!
