On January 1, I began my second-ever year long bible study. Our pastor calls it the Daily Wisdom Challenge {or the "Twitter Bible Study"}. The purpose is to engage in a reading plan for a year, and post insight from your reading each day, in 140 characters or less! You can find a reading plan at YouVersion.
I must admit, as I have done in a previous post on the Daily Wisdom Challenge that I fell a week behind while we were in Boston. I've had a hard time catching up, but I finally did it!! So, instead of the usual one week of insight, I have a double dose for you. Yes, it's double. But it just quick little nuggets of Truth for you to ponder!
Here is what I learned over the past week:
Eccl 6:10 God has had the plan for our lives since the beginning of time. It makes no sense to argue with that.
Eccl 7:14 Accept God's ways. Though they don't always make sense, they are His ways and we shouldn't waste time trying to "fix" what we don't even understand.
Eccl 12:14 God knows all we do whether it is in public or private. He will judge us for what we have done regardless.
Ps 50:23 Give thanks to God. It is a way to give Him glory for all the things He has done for you.
2 Cor 9:11 When you give generously, you will be blessed so that others may continue to be blessed by your generosity.
Is 1:17 We must learn to do good - seek justice and fight for those who cannot defend themselves.
2 Cor 11:12-13 We must seek knowledge and truth so that we will not be deceived when we encounter false teachers of Christ.
2 Cor 11:30-31 If you must boast, boast about the things that you struggle with - your weaknesses. God will know you are sincere!
2 Cor 12:9-10 God works His best through our weaknesses. When you feel weak, allow Him to come in and do a mighty work through you. In your weakness, He is strong!
Ps 56:10-11 It doesn't matter what happens. God's promises are good and, therefore, we should fear nothing.
2 Cor 13:11 As we walking our faith, we should do so joyfully and be an encouragement to others on their walk.
Gal 1:7 Be alert for false teachers who seek to throw us from our path of what is good.
Prov 23:13 Discipline your children!! It isn't going to kill them if you correct them when they do wrong!
Gal 3:2 We don't receive the Holy Spirit because we know how to follow a bunch of rules. We receive the Holy Spirit because of our belief in the Gospel and in Christ.
