Indie Gift Box

Through sheer luck, a couple weeks ago I discovered something pretty awesome on Twitter.  I noticed someone tweet about the Indie Gift Box.  They were promoting the boxes and were running low.  Intrigued, I thought I would check out their website and see what it was all about!  As it happens, this was the inaugural month for the Indie Gift Box and here was an opportunity to purchase one!

So what is this all about??

Straight from their website:
"What is Indie Gift Box? We are a company dedicated to promoting independent artists and small businesses! We curate great items from independent artists and small businesses every month and organize them into themed boxes that you can purchase. Our goal is to help you discover new artists and companies, and to help those artists and companies grow their businesses!"

At $15.00 per box, the Indie Gift Box options include a choice of a Beauty Box, Dainty Box, Color Box, or Boho Box.  Each box is tailored to suit the theme, using a variety of independent businesses.  As I was later in hearing about the Indie Gift Box, some were already sold out.  I did order the Dainty Box.  Since I ordered close to the end of the ordering process for the month, that meant that my box actually shipped out quite soon after I placed my order.  I received it very quickly.

When I opened up my package, here's what I found:

I love how the package was carefully wrapped in tissue with the card on top.  There was even a little note on the reverse side of the card.  I thought that added a really special touch!

The package contained an assortment of business cards from the vendors whose products were a part of the Dainty Box for July.

Here is what I received:

Handmade orange felt bow by maryrebecca.com
Shy Owl Necklace by Anirtak
Set of 3 Hair Knotties by Elle Dee Design
Button Earrings by Glow Kouture
Vegan Eye Shadow in Peach Ice by The All Natural Face
$5 credit for The Beauty of One {I purchased a digital photo print for $5!}

There were additional cards in the box to promote other small businesses.  Some cards featured promo codes for discounts to use in their shops on a future purchase!

I spent $15 and I had no idea what I would get in my Dainty Box except for the information given on the box information page.  That is to say I knew the items would have a feminine touch and I knew who the contributing vendors could be.  I didn't have time to check out the Indie Gift Box blog for further hints, so the contents were truly a mystery prior to arrival.

I spent $15 and I feel that I got far more than $15 worth of products!  I love the "hair knotties".  I have some from another vendor but I use them all the time, so I was excited to get some in some new fun colors!  I love The Beauty of One, so I was super excited to get a credit to use in their shop!  I love everything, really.  I do.  While the orange hair bow would definitely clash with my red hair, I have a daughter who absolutely loves it, so all is good!  It is super cute.

I honestly cannot think of one negative thing to say about the Indie Gift Box.  Nothing at all.  The ordering was only made difficult by the fact that I really wanted one of each of the four boxes!  Delivery was very quick.  The value was excellent.  The products are all wonderful.  The handmade items are very well made.  I had heard of some of these vendors before, but I am excited to learn about new ones!

All I want to know now is when is the August Indie Gift Box going to be available for purchase?!?!
Seriously, friends, you need to check this out!!

This is my own independent review of Indie Gift Box.  I was not contacted by them to do a review, nor was I compensated.  My opinions are 100% my own.
