A Night At The Battery

A week or so ago, Moira won a free ticket to a Charleston Battery game through the accelerated reader program at her school.  Not long before that, Ron had purchased a deal on Living Social for a couple tickets to a Battery game.  So he used that to get our two tickets to the Battery's season opener tonight.  Moira's ticket was for a different section, so she just sat with us.  We had some issues with home nursing for Peyton {yes...again} but I made sure the agency knew that tonight had to be scheduled!  We needed this little partial family outing.  I always feel so bad because our "big" outings usually do not involve Peyton.

We had a fun evening out, so I thought I'd share some pictures from our night!

Charleston Battery vs Richmond Kickers
Richmond won 2-1.

The tickets Ron picked up were front row!!  Moira enjoyed hanging out at the rail.

Nice to be this close to the action!
Note - Charleston is in black and white.
Second Note - The guy on the far right end of the picture is John Wilson, and he is one of Moira's coaches every other Monday when her league gets to have team drills at this stadium!

Yep.  We were this close to the action!

Second from the right in black and white is #32 {you can barely see his number} is Colin Falvey.  He was Moira's coach a couple weeks ago at their Battery drill practice!  He's the Charleston Battery team captain.

The gloves {er...mittens} were on!

Final score: Charleston 1 - Richmond 2
Richmond scored their second goal in the last few minutes of the game.

After the game was over, the crowd took the field in preparation for the post-game fireworks!  I just thought this was a cool looking shot.  I was playing around with some different settings on my camera.  Only one stadium light was on in the whole place.  They turned everything off {including that one light} for the fireworks.

A great time was had by all.
We'll definitely be heading to more games this season.
And definitely looking into season tickets for next season!
